“Relaxing” in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, China

We checked into the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel in Central, Hong Kong after seeing Dan off to the airport.

Unfortunately, the serene, relaxed part of the trip was over due to a looming Air Canada strike. It was quite possible that we would end up stranded in Hong Kong. Many hours were spent trying to change our flights to make sure that we would make it home. All flights scheduled to depart before the strike deadline were fully booked. We were able to move to an earlier flight but it was scheduled to depart a few hours after the strike deadline. We hoped that the crew that was in Hong Kong would want to return home.

In addition to the flight drama, we had some clothes made, did a little shopping, went for a wonderful harbour cruise with Roger and Gary, and wandered the city trying to burn off some calories because all we did was eat. The restaurants in this city are absolutely amazing – any food, any place, any time….

For those of you who are not foodies, a word of warning: the rest of this blog is about to become all about food….
