Yzeures-sur-Creuse, France
Today was a wonderful but sad day. This has been such a wonderful experience that it will be very hard to leave.
We set out early in the morning to travel to the Tours market. The Saturday market is extensive. There is a large indoor market building and outdoor stalls filled with every kind of food that you could ever imagine. I could have spent all day there!
Back at Le Calabash we learned the ins and outs of working with sugar and making polenta to accompany a lunch of beef fillets. Our final meal with Sidney and Alison was a South African BBQ featuring piri piri sosaties and the “dessert to impress”.
We were presented with certificates of completion for the course and our own embroidered aprons.
We left the following day to return home with a wealth of new knowledge, a greater appreciation of French food culture and two new friends. Thanks to Sidney and Alison for an amazing week!!!
