Lima, Peru

We flew to Lima on Air Canada through Bogota…. insert cocaine joke here…. Having taken multiple Asian flights over the last several years, 5 1/2 hours to Bogota was a breeze. It was a bit of a surprise that the flight to Lima was almost another 3 hours though.

I gave a couple of talks at the International Congress of Interventional Radiology and Interventional Neuroradiology. The variety of lectures was great and the conference had a very relaxed and fluid feeling. Peruvians just roll with the punches when things don’t go well. 1 of the 2 lecture rooms isn’t available? You just juggle talks around and reprint the day’s schedule. Someone has to leave early? Another member of the faculty will just give an extra lecture with a few minutes notice. It all worked out quite well.

As I spent most of my time preparing my as yet unfinished talks, I didn’t get a chance to see much of Lima. I am looking forward to spending some time here at the end of next week.
