Cape of Good Hope Tour

Cape Town, South Africa

We made our travel arrangements to make sure that we had a full day to adjust to the time change before the official tour started. We hired a private car for the day (very affordable option here) and headed off for a drive around the cape. Our driver, Leonard, was a delight. It is great getting a chance to have one on one time with a local to hear their take on things. We took the beautiful coastal road and drove down to the Cape of Good Hope. We stopped at the picturesque Chapman’s Peak and Hout Bay to try a few vacation shots with the drone for the first time. We didn’t try anything too crazy or complicated and we got some half decent shots. The Cape of Good Hope is ruggedly beautiful. We got the obligatory tourist shot with the sign and then headed up to the lighthouse on the funicular. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of fresh seafood overlooking the bay before heading back towards Cape Town. When we stopped to check out a nearby penguin colony, Andre realized that he had forgotten has camera bag at the restaurant. Leonard leapt into action and, after a mad flurry of phone calls, arranged to have a bus driver pick up the bag and drop it off to us. We waited in what would have been a gorgeous location overlooking the city but the clouds had rolled making it feel like the moors from The Hounds of the Baskervilles. The day was topped at The African Cafe where there serve an Africa feast featuring delicious dishes from all over Africa.
