In Gyantse, there are 2 tourist attractions. Gyanstse Dzong, the restored shell of a fort that was a key element in the Tibetan victory in the Tibet-Britain war of 1903 and the Pelkhor Choda Monastery.
The monastery was built in the early 1400’s. One of the unique features is the 3 dimensional mandala that can be climbed by visitors. We were lucky enough to see monks praying and chanting during our visit.
